Last updated: October 6, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Animacious (Proprietor: Salil Anand Ponde) ("Animacious", "we", "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Animacious desktop application (the "Software") and the animacious.com website (the "Website").

1. Summary

Your videos never leave your computer. All editing and rendering in Animacious happens on your device. It does not upload, transmit or share your media, projects, exports or usage data with us or anyone else. It has no analytics, telemetry or tracking.

The only personal information we handle is your account and licence details (your email address and the devices you sign in on), what you give us when you buy a licence, and anything you send us by email.

2. The Animacious app

All editing, previewing, rendering and exporting happens locally on your device. The Software:

  • does not send your videos, images, audio, projects or exports to our servers or any third party;
  • does not collect analytics, telemetry, crash reports or usage statistics;
  • does not track what you create or how you use its features.

Signing in and licence verification

Licences are linked to your email address, and you sign in to the Software to use the licensed version. When you sign in, and periodically afterwards to confirm your licence is still valid, the Software connects to our licensing server and sends only:

  • your email address and sign-in verification details (for example a one-time code or a secure session token);
  • a randomly generated device identifier, the device name and operating system, so we can enforce your licence's device limit and show you which devices are signed in;
  • the Software version.

Our server responds with your licence status. We record the time of each check and the IP address it came from, for security and fraud prevention. Nothing else is sent. Files and settings created by the Software are stored only on your device, in locations you control.

3. When you make a purchase

Purchases are processed by our third-party payment provider. To complete your order, the payment provider collects your name, email address, billing country or address, and payment details. We receive only the information needed to fulfil and support your order:

  • your name and email address;
  • your country (for tax purposes);
  • order details such as product, price, date and order ID;
  • the licence type and the email address it is linked to.

We never see or store your full card or bank details. The payment provider handles these under its own privacy policy and PCI-DSS compliant security standards.

4. When you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use this only to respond to you and to provide support. Please do not send us your video files unless we specifically ask for them to help resolve an issue. If you do, we delete them once the issue is resolved.

5. Our website

The Website is a static site. It does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers, and it does not have user accounts or forms that store your information.

Like any website, our hosting provider may process standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and to deliver the site. The Website also loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers. See Google's Privacy Policy.

6. How we use information

We use the limited information described above only to:

  • process your purchase and activate your licence on your account;
  • let you sign in, verify your licence and manage your signed-in devices;
  • provide customer support, refunds and account help;
  • send important transactional messages about your purchase;
  • meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations;
  • prevent fraud and abuse.

We will only send you marketing emails if you explicitly opt in, and you can unsubscribe at any time. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.

We process your personal data in accordance with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules. You give your consent when you create an account or make a purchase, and you can withdraw it at any time by asking us to delete your account. Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on performance of a contract (to fulfil your purchase and provide your licence), legal obligation (for tax and accounting records) and legitimate interests (for fraud prevention and support).

7. Sharing

We share personal information only with:

  • Our payment provider, to process payments, taxes and refunds;
  • Our hosting provider, which runs our sign-in and licensing server;
  • Our email provider, to send sign-in codes, purchase confirmations and support replies;
  • Authorities, where required by law.

These providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

8. Retention

We keep your account and licence information for as long as your account exists. Device records are deleted when you sign out of that device or delete your account, and licence-check logs are kept for up to 90 days. We keep order records for as long as required for tax and accounting purposes (typically up to 8 years under Indian law). Support emails are kept for up to 2 years after your last contact, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, or to object to or restrict how we process it. California residents have the rights described in the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it.

To exercise any of these rights, including deleting your account, email support@animacious.com. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority, including the Data Protection Board of India.
